"Bigga Dre " Presents Poetic Justice Open Mic/Open Panel Film Screening "Black August"
DESCRIPTION:
Every August we honor freedom fighters and political prisoners who put their lives on the line, risking social and economic security to defend the self-determination of Black communities.
August is a month dedicated to paying homage to fallen African Indigenous activist incarcerated freedom fighters, and African American resilience to the Maafa historical and ongoing.This year, as we are still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is disproportionately killing Black people, and worldwide protests against the judicial bias decisiond , and unjust killings of Black people . There is so much power in elevating our histories and reflecting on the lessons learned from the lives of our ancestors whose legacies shape the future in this day and time. Join us Friday August 5th for The film screening of "Black August" , Open Mic segment entitled "Poetic Justice" where artists will go showcase their talent through spoken word, and vocalization, and forms of musical expression!
